Erik Stewart joined the True North team in 2015. Erik realized a passion for beautiful landscapes and how to handle major snowfalls at a very young age.  Working in the snow and landscape industries the past 12 years he has managed a wide variety of projects, from small residential maintenance work to large year round commercial projects. Prior to coming on board, Erik worked for one of the largest landscape companies in the country managing large portfolios of business. What makes Erik proud is how a property looks and the smile on a customer’s face after a project has been completed. Erik has a strong attention to detail and finds his satisfaction when the property he is working on looks better than when he got there.

Justin graduated from the University of Kansas in 2006 with a Finance and Accounting degree and a minor in Psychology. After a few months of temp accounting work, he joined the US Coast Guard serving 2 years doing Search & Rescue in Lake Tahoe, CA, and 2 years as a Marine Science Technician in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  While serving in the USCG, he graduated from Upper Iowa University in 2011 with an MBA and emphasis in Accounting and Finance. Upon completing his Coast Guard active-duty tours (currently in the Reserves), he married and moved to Olathe, KS with his wife and 3 children. Since then, he has worked as a Controller for True North and founded the Brew Lab in Overland Park, KS. Justin works diligently to integrate TNO operations and accounting systems, increase internal controls, reduce manual entry, provide better visibility to management with enhanced month-end reporting, and use cost metrics to isolate and analyze property management performance.

Bob Scott, founder of Joseph Company Global, has been a pioneering church planter, revolutionized worship music through 7th Time Music and helped usher in e-commerce in the late 1990s.  Bob spent the last three decades as a Life Coach and Consultant to Professional Athletes, Corporate Executives, those in Arts & Entertainment and the Geo-Political arenas. Bob’s passionate goal is to encourage those working outside traditional religious circles, assisting them in the expansion and implementation of their spiritual worldview.

The installation and maintenance of irrigation systems is one of a number of key services that TNO provides. With the hot and often dry summers here, keeping grass, plants and trees alive and healthy is mission critical. Making sure our customer’s properties look healthy and vibrant is our mission and in order to accomplish that we look to hire the best talent. Ray has over 20 years’ experience in this field and there is little he hasn’t seen or experienced which makes him a great problem solver. Ray is ordinally from Tampa, FL. He is the father of three and the grandfather of two.

He started out in our industry working at a large, local landscape company in charge of their Residential Landscape Construction division. Within a short period of time, he had quadrupled their sales! He comes to us with a lot of experience in sales, business development and a passion to advance his career in landscape and pool construction. Over time, Chuck has cultivated key relationships with local builders including Cardinal Crest, Homoly Homes, Lambie Homes, and Inspired Homes, just to name a few. He represented his previous company on the New Member committee for the KC Home Builders Association. He has also spent time attending Trade Shows educating potential clients on Landscaping as well as Lead Generation.
Chuck came to TNO highly recommended by a local Landscape Designer and Graeme Murphy. He decided to join the TNO team because he noticed we sincerely care about our team members, our clients, and about the lasting impression we leave on everyone we interact with on a daily basis. He observed that our TNO teams puts out superior work and is willing to tackle any obstacle when most companies just say that it is something they don’t do. He found our “Can Do” attitude and willingness to solve problems getting the job done very appealing. It was a work environment he wanted to be a part of as these are the key components for growth.

I grew up in a small town in Northeast Missouri called Novinger with two brothers and a sister. In high school I owned and operated my own mowing company. I was a collegiate baseball player for 5 years and I recently graduated from college in December 2021. While being a student athlete I worked in the summers for Home Depot and Menards being a customer service rep and outside yard team member. During and after college I worked in the landscaping industry for 2 years before moving over to True North.

Brian was born, raised and educated in the Midwest. He brings a traditional midwestern ethos to our organization with his “get the job done and get it done well” approach to his management role. Having previously been a very successful business owner in his own right, he has firsthand real-world knowledge and experience of what it takes to build a successful organization. With True North Outdoors’s continual rapid growth, he is a real asset to our team. He loves to motivate and inspire our employees to continue to develop their skillsets as we pursue better organizational efficiency and greater profitability. His project and time management skills are mission critical to our success in delivering world class services to our customers. Given his approachable and friendly nature, our clients love interacting with him because he’s a good listener and responsive to their needs and suggestions. Outside of TNO, Brian’s passions are focused on long range shooting competitions and his two beautiful daughters.

Kevan Magdeleno

Operations Coordinator

Kevan is an Operations Coordinator for TNO. Though born here in Kansas City, he is a vital cross cultural bridge in our multi-cultural, multi-national organization. He started working as a teenager at restaurants, hotels even doing construction work. Given his father and other family members are in the landscape business, it wasn’t long before he found himself on a mower digging irrigation trenches working under the hot sun. After a two year hiatus, he returned to the landscape sector this time in a Coordinator role. He is diligent, hardworking and excellent at the details. Given his bi-lingual skills he is our top trainer and translator. On a daily basis, he manages employee payroll hours, work clothing inventory and helps the Operations Manager with scheduling. In the winter, he is an Area Coordinator working with District Managers, Sub-Contractors and the TNO team to insure properties have been properly maintained. If you ask Kevan he will tell you “TNO is my family. I love working with everyone here”.

Jenifer is an Operations Coordinator for TNO. Originally from Olathe, KS, she later graduated from Bashor Linwood High School in Bashor, Kansas. Jenifer started her career at True North, working out in the field with our landscape team as a Crew Leader. Jenifer brings a great deal of drive, determination and hands on experience to our team. Whether it’s software implementation, scheduling, purchasing or any number of other tasks she is assigned, she tackles them with passion, precision, and punctuality. She is a beloved team member and the daughter of TNO Crew Leader Sandra Mayorga. She is the mother of two very cute boys who she loves to go on adventures with.

Eddie began his Landscape career in 2002 when he joined TruGreen as an Application Specialist. During his time at TruGreen, Eddie worked for now TNO Vice President Erik Stewart. It quickly became apparent to Erik that Eddie had a drive and determination for excellence in all he did. In 2022 when the need for an Application Specialist arose at TNO, Erik recruited Eddie here.

A few of the factors in his decision to join TNO were working with Erik again, the strong sense of team and comradery he witnessed here and the opportunity for job advancement.

His first year here was impressive and in 2023 he was promoted to Production Manager.

If you ask Eddie what motivates him, he will say “I love what I do and who I do it with.” The one thing he wants everyone to understand about him is that he is extremely focused on success and growth. Pedro Magdeleno

Pedro is a stalwart at TNO having worked here since 2009. Born in Camargo, Chihuahua (Northern Mexico) Pedro began his work career as a delivery driver for a bottled water company. It was a grueling job but formed his hard work ethic. After coming to the US, he found a job working for the Fast-Food chain Wendy’s. Over the next 13 years he would advance through the company ranks, eventually becoming a manager. Wanting to be outside more, he made a career change and decided to try landscaping. Over time he became an expert in all things irrigation and always trusted to get the job done right. Pedro is married and the father of 8 ranging in age from 7-30. One of his sons Kevan works at True North and like his father, a great asset to the organization.
